Volga River State Recreation Area

Park headquarters is located near Williden, Iowa with (roads #34) and #14 nearby, offers visitors a serene experience kayaking down the Volga River or hiking through the scenic trails that wind through the wooded areas. The park is also a haven for bird-watchers, as over 230 species of birds have been spotted within the park. According to Lisa Menning, Park ranger for the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, "The park's location and habitat make it a key stopping point for migratory birds."
